HYPIENDproject has kicked-off in Barcelona! The project aims at understanding and preventing the impact of endocrine disruptors on the hypothalamus-pituitary axis during pregnancy, breastfeeding and prepubertal children. The project will use advanced computational toxicology methods to create a methodological framework using public data and state-of-the-art data analysis techniques to define exposure patterns to multiple chemicals and evaluate their impact on the neuroendocrine system. Non-invasive biomarkers of disruption of the hypothalamic-pituitary axis will be identified and two clinical studies will be carried out at European level with pregnant women and their offspring, and children in prepuberty. This HorizonEurope project, coordinated by Eurecat - Centro Tecnológico involves the collaboration of 14 research institutions, collectively working towards a holistic understanding of endocrine disruptors' influences during developmental stages: Radboud University, Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol, Sciensano, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, KU Leuven, Universidad de Granada, Centrum Medyczne Kształcenia Podyplomowego, ProtoQSAR, ENCO Consulting | NetSuite Experts, Medical Research Institute La Fe (IIS La Fe), King's College London, University of Geneva, University of Liège
